The Harness Breeders NSW (HBNSW) Mares Dowry Scheme is a signature incentive program designed to support the longevity and sustainability of the state's breeding industry by helping owners transition their quality racing mares to the breeding barn.

 

The scheme allows financial Harness Breeders NSW Members to proactively nominate their active racing mares to accumulate dedicated funding while they compete on the track.

 

Once a mare finishes her racing career, these accumulated funds are unlocked, providing vital financial support to cover future breeding costs. By turning racing success into breeding capital, HBNSW ensures that quality bloodlines remain in New South Wales, directly lowering the financial barriers for owners looking to breed the next generation of standardbred champions.
